Most treadmills, including the Sole F85 treadmill, are fairly straightforward in terms of use and operations. However, when getting any new piece of machinery, it certainly does not hurt to be familiarized with the instruction manual. More often than not, knowing the basics can help an owner to get more comfortable with the product and thus be able to spot issues more readily.
Quick-Start
Quick-start is a feature more and more treadmills are incorporating. Pressing the start key once will wake the machine, and pressing it again will start the belt. It will begin moving very slowly, at .5 miles per hour; the ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ keys can then be used to adjust the pace. The ‘stop’ key will abruptly stop the belt from moving. Always speed up and slow down in small increments.
Incline Adjustment
Once the belt is in motion, the incline can be adjusted at any point in time. By pressing and holding the ‘adjust’ up and down arrows on the handrail or on the console, the incline will increase or decrease. Higher incline will mean more effort is required. This particular model maxes out at an incline of 12, which will be the most difficult level.
Grip Pulse Detector
The feature of the grip pulse detector is innovative and very useful. By holding onto the grips, you can learn your heart-rate in a matter of seconds — it will show up on the display. Both of the sensors must be gripped simultaneously in order to get the results. This is a great way to track the intensity of a workout to decide if more or less exertion is necessary to achieve a certain zone.
As technology advances, workout equipment manages to keep up. There are many features to the Sole F85 treadmill, and these are just the basics. The owner of a new piece of machinery should always look through the instruction manual in order to get the most out of his or her investment. There could even be features to the product that he or she did not know existed.
